Explore the Fan Festival Neighbourhoods

The FIFA Fan Festival™ is more than just a giant watch party, it's a mini city of themed neighbourhoods spread across the PNE grounds.

The Vineyard brings Okanagan wine-country vibes to the Festival with open-air patios, greenery, local food offerings, and a more relaxed viewing atmosphere.

The Neighbourhood channels the energy of Vancouver's street festivals and night markets, featuring a diverse lineup of local food vendors serving flavours from around the world.

The Campground and The Backyard celebrate BC's outdoor culture, offering laid-back gathering spaces to grab a bite, meet fellow fans, and take a break between matches and concerts.

Throughout the site you'll also find interactive sponsor activations, games, photo opportunities, merchandise, and family-friendly experiences that make the Festival feel like much more than a place to watch soccer.

The Introvert vs. Extrovert Guide to the Fan Festival

Extroverts: Congratulations, you've found your natural habitat. Spend the day bouncing between giant match screenings, live concerts, food vendors, sponsor activations, and spontaneous celebrations with thousands of fellow fans. If Canada scores, don't be surprised if you're hugging strangers.

Introverts: We've got you too. Grab a spot in The Vineyard, find a shady corner in The Backyard, or wander the grounds between matches when things are a little calmer. You'll still get all the World Cup excitement without committing to being shoulder-to-shoulder with the loudest soccer fans in the city.

The best part? You can switch teams at any time. Start your day people-watching from a comfortable distance and end it singing along with thousands of fans after a dramatic last-minute winner.

Transportation During FIFA

Vancouver is expecting a huge surge of visitors for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, so TransLink is basically going into “event mode”, adding more service across everything (bus, SkyTrain, SeaBus, West Coast Express) to handle crowds.

Solution? Transit will be your best bet as driving near venues will be messy with closures and crowd control!

Photo via 604now and translink

Bus changes

~ 600 extra bus trips per day during the tournament

~ 12,000 additional service hours overall

- Extra service downtown + to major event areas

- Dedicated shuttle to the PNE (FIFA Fan Festival), connecting to SkyTrain lines

- Backup buses on standby to handle crowd spikes

SkyTrain changes

- Trains every ~2 minutes at peak times before/after matches

- Service runs later at night (especially for evening games)

Extra empty trains staged to move crowds quickly after games

Important:

- Stadium–Chinatown + Yaletown stations won’t directly access BC Place on game days. You’ll need to use Main Street–Science World Station instead

SeaBus changes

- Runs every 15 minutes or better all day

- Every 10 minutes before/after matches

- Extended hours for late games

West Coast Express

Special game-day trains on select weekends to handle demand

Other key things to know:

Expect road closures + restricted areas near BC Place and downtown

There will be designated HandyDART pickup/drop-off zones

Only one entrance to BC Place on match days

Scoot Around The City On Lime

Photo Via Lime Website

When the city’s packed for FIFA and everything’s a bit busier than usual, getting around Vancouver can feel like a mission. Lime scooters are a pretty clutch workaround. You can just grab one nearby, zip through bike lanes, and get where you’re going without overthinking it. They’re especially handy for short hops between bars, watch parties, or venues when everything’s buzzing. Not fancy, just easy and kind of fun in the middle of all the chaos.
